International Master’s Degree in Central Nervous System Radiosurgery at the Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio (UAX)

November 17, 2025 will mark the start of the eighth edition of the prestigious International Master in Central Nervous System (CNS) Radiosurgery, directed by the renowned neurosurgeon and Prof. Dr. Kita Sallabanda, author of the only book on Radiosurgery on the market.

This academic programme provides the necessary training to perform radiosurgery treatments according to international standards.

It is aimed at those who wish to specialise in advanced radiosurgery techniques and lasts for a period of 6 months and awards 60 official credits. It is carried out in collaboration with the Alfonso X El Sabio University (UAX).

🎓🩺The International Master’s Degree in Radiosurgery takes place at the IRCA (Institute of Advanced Radiosurgery) headquarters.

The master’s degree, based at the Institute for Advanced Radiosurgery (IRCA), guarantees comprehensive, high-quality training.

Students from all over the world have passed through this master’s course, acquiring both theoretical and practical knowledge of the most advanced and effective technology in the field of radiosurgery, both theoretical and practical.

It is a programme designed to provide professionals with the necessary training to perform radiosurgery treatments in accordance with international standards.

The course is designed to provide comprehensive and advanced training to enable students to be at the forefront of techniques and procedures, ensuring they are well prepared to meet the challenges of their professional career.

The next edition will start with the theoretical part on 17 November and will conclude on 14 May 2026, providing a complete and structured educational experience.

The course covers both the theoretical and practical fundamentals of radiosurgery, including radiobiology, treatment planning and safe dose delivery. In addition, students will have the opportunity to learn from top professionals in the field and become familiar with the use of advanced treatment planning software.

🎓🩺Dr Kita Sallabanda, medical director of IRCA, is the director of the International Master in CNS Radiosurgery.

One of the great eminences in the field of radiosurgery and neurosurgery, Prof. Dr. Kita Sallabanda, is the director of the International Master in CNS Radiosurgery at UAX.

With an impressive track record, having treated more than 5,000 patients with radiosurgery and operated on thousands as a neurosurgeon, Prof. Dr. Sallabanda has extensive experience with all the equipment available on the market specifically for radiosurgery (Gamma Knife, CyberKnife, and now the advanced ZAP-X, which is used in IRCA). He is also president of the Ibero-Latin American Society of Radiosurgery and has been awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Spain and the Commendation of the Order of Civil Merit.
