International Master’s Degree in Central Nervous System Radiosurgery at the Alfonso X el Sabio University (UAX)

 

November 17, 2025 will mark the beginning of the eighth edition of the prestigious International Master in Central Nervous System (CNS) Radiosurgery, directed by the renowned neurosurgeon, and Prof. Dr. Kita Sallabanda, author of the only book on Radiosurgery in the market.

This academic program provides the necessary training to perform radiosurgery treatments according to international standards.

It is aimed at those who wish to specialize in advanced radiosurgery techniques and lasts for a period of 6 months and grants 60 official credits. It is carried out in collaboration with the University Alfonso X El Sabio (UAX).

The course covers both the theoretical and practical fundamentals of radiosurgery, including radiobiology, treatment planning and safe dose delivery. In addition, students will have the opportunity to learn from top professionals in the field and become familiar with the use of advanced treatment planning software.

One of the great eminences in the field of radiosurgery and neurosurgery, Prof. Dr. Kita Sallabanda, is the Director of the International Master in CNS Radiosurgery at UAX.

With an impressive track record, having treated more than 5,000 patients with radiosurgery and operated on thousands as a neurosurgeon, Prof. Dr. Sallabanda has extensive experience with all the equipment available on the market specifically for radiosurgery (Gamma Knife, CyberKnife, and now the advanced ZAP-X, with which he works in IRCA). He is also president of the Ibero-Latin American Society of Radiosurgery and has been awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Spain and the Commendation of the Order of Civil Merit.
