The CV of Dr. Kita Sallabanda, recently appointed President of the European Society of Neurosurgery, is a dazzling journey through the vast continent that is Neurosurgery and Radiosurgery, a journey that began in the 1980s and continues to this day. He is a world-renowned authority in this field.
In his research work, he has received awards such as the “Comparative study of ventriculoperitoneal and lumboperitoneal shunts in normal-pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) in adults,” awarded as the best paper at the Congress.
He is also responsible for the work “Radiosurgery: Fundamentals, Technological Advances, Indications, and Results,” published in collaboration with the Complutense University of Madrid.

Regarding his teaching work, Dr. Kita is the Director of the Master’s in Central Nervous System Radiosurgery at the Complutense University of Madrid for the sixth consecutive year (2017-2023), of the Radiosurgery School of SENEC, and holds the position of President of the Spanish Society of Neurosurgery.
In 2023, he also directs the 2nd edition of the “Radiosurgery School” course held in March in Granada, organized by SENEC, the Spanish Society of Neurosurgery.
His awards and recognitions are not limited to professionals. Dr. Kita has been awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Spain and the Commendation of the Order of Civil Merit. He also served as the Consul of Spain in Tirana for some time.
